Chachos on Almaden Ave
This site has been closed a long time. You can still see some of the art on the walls.
Sometimes exploring feels a little like a recent form of archaeology. “Receology”? That could be a new word. Exploring, thinking, imagining what was. Then, projecting to imagine what will be left of many things we value now in the long years ahead. What will they imagine and presume about us and our time. All this can be done from some paintings on a wall done not that long ago. You don’t have to live next to the Ohlone petroglyphs to get some philosophical imaginings going. Though, Ohlone petroglyphs can certainly inspire a lot of thoughts.

Celebrations Under the Water Mural
Celebrations Under the Water is a mural by Harumo Sato (https://www.instagram.com/harumosato) and it is a fun one to look at. If you drive by it on Almaden Ave. and W. Santa Clara St. you may only sense it is a fun colorful mural. If you stop and look for a while you will find find things to smile about.

Railroad Track – Stunningly Beautiful Mural in Progress
This GIANT mural is gorgeous! These photos were from just a couple of days ago and it is in progress. This is being done by Lacey Bryant (https://www.instagram.com/laceybryantart/?hl=en) , a San Jose artist I really appreciate. Several of my favorite murals in San Jose are by her. Take a look at this one along the tracks between 1st and 2nd street, just north of Julian.
